Jazz Fest is returning to the OCC campus! The 34th annual M&T Syracuse Jazz Fest will be held Saturday, July 2 and Sunday, July 3. The festival is free to attend.

Saturday night’s headliner will be Michael McDonald, a five-time Grammy Award winner who has experienced success both as a solo artist and as lead singer with the Doobie Brothers.

Sunday night’s main attraction is Trombone Shorty and Orleans Avenue.

Other festival highlights include:

  • A tribute to Syracuse jazz vocalist Mark Murphy. The Fulton native passed away in October. He recorded 40 albums in 40 years. The tribute will include musical performances by national artists with local ties who worked with Murphy throughout his career including vocalists Randy Brecker, Joe Carello, Ronnie Leigh and Nancy Kelly along with guitarist Marty Ashby and trombonist Jay Ashby.
  • Baldwinsville vocalist Julia Goodwin and student jazz group NOTEified.
  • The Stan Colella All-Star Band
  • Second Line Syracuse Brass Band
  • Saturday night fireworks
