Anyone can come into our Counseling Department if they are in need of someone to talk with about things that are happening in their personal life. Overcoming Personal Obstacles
Sometimes, he obstacle to your success in the classroom happens outside of the classroom. If you’re trying to overcome an obstacle in your personal life you should visit the Community Care Hub at OCC. They can help link you with food resources, connect you with transportation to campus, assist you in finding affordable housing, help you plan out your finances, aid in locating matching scholarships and more. Registering for Classes
Each semester you will need to register for new classes to continue your education and earn your degree. You’ll likely have questions about what classes you should take, how many classes you should take and how does this fit in with your overall career goals. When that happens, our Advising Center is there for you to answer your questions and provide guidance. Walk-ins and appointments with advisers can be scheduled by contacting the Advising Center.
The end goal of college for most is to graduate and either transfer to a 4-year school or get a job. Most people going into college don’t know exactly what they want to do or where they want to go. If you’re undecided, our Career Services staff is here to help with career exploration, resume building, help finding internships and more!
