We’re very excited to welcome the Class of 2020 to campus. Here are all the fun things happening during the first two weeks of classes.
Monday, August 27th
We’re starting off the semester with a big party to celebrate your arrival! Join us from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. on the Quad for free food, Party on the Quad swag, games and music.
Tuesday, August 28th
We’re keeping the fun and free food rolling for day 2 of classes! Get a free breakfast from 7:30 – 9:30 a.m. on the Quad. Then come for lawn games from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. at the Amphitheater!
Friday, August 31st
Blow off some steam after your first week of classes at Luau on the Quad! Eat at some tasty local food trucks and do the hula from 8 p.m. to midnight at the Amipeather near Academic II!
Saturday, September 1st
Later in the evening at 9 p.m. come to parking lot 8 for a drive-in movie. The first 100 students to arrive will receive a free blanket. If you arrive even earlier you’ll get entered to win prime seats in a Mustang convertible!
Sunday, September 2nd
A staple of Syracuse is the Great New York State Fair! We’ve got shuttles departing at 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. and returning at 8 p.m. and 10 p.m.
We’ll also have a shuttle to Target to get any last minute shopping done.
Monday, September 3rd (Labor Day)
It’s Labor Day and that means no classes! To celebrate we’re taking a group of students to a Syracuse Chiefs Game. Visit our welcome website for more information!
Tuesday, September 4th
Do you like free stuff? Keep an eye on @OnondagaCC on Instagram for the clue as to where you can get some exciting free stuff for the semester’s second #FreeIfYouCanFindMeOCC.
Wednesday, September 5th
Get motivated for the rest of the semester with Eric Thomas. Come to the SRC Arena during College hour (11:15 – 12:30 p.m.) to hear his words of inspiration for the Class of 2020.
Friday, September 7th
Blow off some steam from the second week of classes with a round of mini-golf and ice cream! Shuttles will department from the SRC Arena at 6, 7 and 8 p.m.
Saturday, September 8th
Take a visit to the Rosamond Gifford Zoo to spend some time with the animals! Shuttles will depart the SRC Arena at noon and 2 p.m.
