Inky Johnson will share his motivational message with the campus community Monday. Johnson was an outstanding college football player at Tennessee who sustained a life-threatening injury on the field. While tackling a player he suffered a ruptured artery which resulted in nerve damage in his right shoulder and ultimately a paralyzed right arm.
The injury changed the course of his life but his spirit and motivation remained strong. Johnson earned a master’s degree in Sports Psychology and began spreading his message of relentless determination across the country. Today he mentors athletes and underprivileged youth while sharing his inspirational message.
Johnson will speak Monday at 11:15 a.m. in the SRC Arena. His presentation is free and open to the public.
