4 Reasons You Should Apply to OCC Now

Students Laughing

August 2018 seems like a long way off. But it’ll be here soon and you want to be prepared for college. Here’s 4 reasons why you should apply to OCC now.

Pro tip: The online application only takes 30 minutes to complete.

1. Complete the Application Process Before You Get Senioritis

It happens to almost every high school senior. At some point, senioritis will set in and you’ll be ready to move on to the next phase in your life. When that happens, don’t you want to be able to relax without worrying about what’s next? If you apply now, it’ll be one less thing to do when you’re just looking to enjoy the last part of your senior year.

2. Get Your Financial Aid Package in the Spring

If you apply for financial aid by March 1st, you can expect to receive your aid package sometime in the Spring. This will help you when you’re trying to decide where to go. If you decide to go to OCC, you could be eligible for OCC scholarships, and aid from both federal and state governments.

3. Attend OCC tuition-free with the Excelsior Scholarship

First-time college attendees from New York State could be eligible for the tuition-free Excelsior Scholarship. See if you qualify by visiting our website. The deadline to apply will be in the Spring, but you’ll need to be accepted into OCC before you are able to accept the Excelsior Scholarship.

4. Meet the application deadline for the Nursing, Physical Therapist Assistant and Surgical Technology.

The deadline to apply for Fall 2018 to be in our nursing, physical therapist assistant or surgical technology programs is March 1st. These programs are very competitive, so the sooner you have your application in the better.
