The Podcast: Our Chapter of Honor Society Phi Theta Kappa

PTK President Blake Carter (left) and Faculty Advisor Annie Tuttle (right) are featured in this month’s edition of podcast “Higher Ed News You Can Use from Onondaga Community College.”

In this month’s edition of our podcast, “Higher Ed News You Can Use from Onondaga Community College,” we introduce you to the leaders of our award-winning chapter of international society Phi Theta Kappa (PTK).

Faculty Advisor Annie Tuttle explains how students can become PTK members and discusses the great work they do both on campus and in the community. Being a PTK member also means students are more likely to receive a larger scholarship when transferring to a four-year college.

You will also meet Blake Carter, the student who is President of our PTK chapter. Blake graduated from Jordan-Elbridge High School more than a decade ago and spent several years working in a Lowe’s Home Improvement Store before deciding to come to OCC. Now he’s a semester away from earning his degree in Business Administration.

Fellow PTK,s greetings to you all and congratulations on your stellar academics. I was honored to have been inducted while finishing my Associate degree in Human Services May 2014-15 at Monroe Community College. I was attending as a adult return student, just determined to complete my degree and to finish well. Reaching out to you all there because of the recent Equifax breaches, over one hundred million personal identifying information sources stolen! I offer to you students access to the premier identity theft protection, IDShield, found at Stresslesseveryday.com! Paulette Hall and I would accept a chance to answer any questions and to assist in your proactive approach to protecting your futures! (585-413-6467)
