The brilliant colors of flags from around the world are brightening up the Gordon Student Center! Flags from 66 nations now hang in the Great Room, representing the diverse background of OCC’s student population.
The flags are the product of honor society Phi Theta Kappa’s (PTK) 2015 College Project. College President Dr. Casey Crabill asked PTK leadership to think about a way to illustrate where students came to OCC from.
Student Alena Cerro, who was a PTK officer began the information gathering process two years ago. Once the data was collected on students’ home countries, the appropriate flags were collected. They were hung in the Great Room during spring break.
