Lee Berg, Nursing, had a story about her students service-learning trip to Guatemala published in the journal Nursing2016.
Chris Kukenberger, Art, received the Peace Islands Award at the Turkish Cultural Center of Syracuse’s 11th annual Friendship Dinner.
Ramesh Gaonkar, gave two keynote speeches at two Engineering Conferences in India. In June, he will present a paper at the American Society of Engineering Education national conference in Columbus, Ohio. In August, he will teach as a Visiting Professor for a half-semester at a university in India.
Russell Madajewski, Hospitality Management, released a book “The Tale of Old Man Fischer” which is available on amazon and Kindle.
Kenneth Meyer, Music, was featured as a guest teacher and performer at the Upstate New York Classical Guitar Society’s Fall Festival in Oneonta, NY. He taught a masterclass for festival participants and performed a solo recital. Meyer also traveled to Guitar Salon International in Los Angeles to record a series of videos with Steven Thachuk as part of the Meyer/Thachuk guitar duo. Deborah Starczewski, MS. Ed., EOP Academic Coach /Adjunct Instructor Teacher Education Dept., authored an article in the October issue of the Teaching Professor, titled, “Encouraging Students to Think Beyond the Course Material: The Benefits of Using Reflective Journals.” The article featured the personal advantages to both the professor and students when utilizing reflective journaling within not the students in her early childhood development course, but any course content area.
Anastasia Urtz, Vice President for Administration and Compliance, was named an ACE Fellow by the American Council on Education (ACE) for the 2017-18 academic year.
