Yvette Jenkins has two distinguished careers; one is in the military, the other is in higher education. On campus she’s known for her outstanding work in the Counseling department. Jenkins has been with the College for 28 years and currently serves as the Counseling department’s interim chair.

Jenkins also has a long history of service to her country. On the first weekend in November she was honored for 32 years with the U.S. Army Reserves, retiring as a Master Sergeant. During her career she was a medic, instructor and trainer.

Aside from Jenkins’ counseling duties on campus she is also an adjunct instructor in Health and Physical Education and in General Studies. She also serves on numerous College committees including Chairs, Curriculum, Faculty Executive, Negotiations, Promotions and Title IX.

On the eve of VETERANS DAY 2015, I would like to CONGRATULATE Prof. Yvette Jenkins for her outstanding service in the US military for almost 32 years. And now she is holding some of the most important services to the Onondaga Community College, family. She is really an exemplary lady with a lot of disciplinary actions. I enjoy her advising at the end of every semesters. I hope we will be continuing getting her precious time to shape our future.
Thank you so much for all you have done and continue to do. I hope you will enjoy this thoughtful message from one of your student to commemorate this VETERANS DAY.
