Deynaba Farah is a native of Danlahel, Somalia who moved to Syracuse in 2006 and graduated from Nottingham High School. At OCC she majored in Human Services. Her career goal is to work with children and help them understand the benefits of getting an education. During the 2014-15 academic year Farah was the Student Representative on the College’s Board of Trustees. “I was honored to be selected as the voice of the students. It was great to meet people, realize they are just like me and learn about all of the great things happening here.” Farah credits OCC with being a prefect fit for her. “I’m so glad I came here. It gave me a head start on life. If I went to a four-year university first I would have been lost. This was perfect for me.”
